To address workforce shortages during high-demand periods in industries like agriculture, tourism, and food processing, NZ is launching two new seasonal visas—Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) and Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV)—under the AEWV framework from 8 December 2025.Immigration New Zealand


1. Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV)

  • Validity: Up to 3 years, with requirement to spend ≥ 3 months per year outside NZ
  • Eligibility: Minimum 3 prior seasonal work seasons in the last 6 years
  • Requirements: No English or Labour Market Test needed
  • Pathway: Can transition to other visa categoriesImmigration New Zealand

Requirements for Both Visas

  • Accredited Employer: Must issue a valid job offer and complete job check
  • Valid Job Offer from an accredited employer in specified seasonal role
  • No English test or job advertising needed under GWSV

  • Valid passport & identity documents
  • Proof of prior seasonal work (for GWSV applicants)
