Academic Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

Required Documents

You must submit:

  • Official university transcripts (with grading scale)
  • Certified English translation (if not originally in English)
  • CV/Resume (complete academic record)
  • 750-word Statement of Purpose
  • Contact details of 3 referees (KAUST contacts them directly)
  • Valid passport copy

If admitted, official transcripts must be sent before arrival.


English Language Requirements

KAUST only accepts the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (6.5 overall, minimum 5.5 each section)
  • TOEFL iBT (81 overall, minimum 17 each section)
  • PTE Academic (62 overall)
  • Cambridge CAE (176 overall)
  • Cambridge Linguaskill (176 overall)

Does KAUST Accept Duolingo?

No.
KAUST does NOT accept the Duolingo English Test as proof of English proficiency.

Pakistani students must take IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Cambridge exams. IELTS Online and TOEFL Home Edition are accepted.

English test scores are valid for 2 years.
